Laid Back

So, naturally, this is what you picture when you think of the greatest bands in rock 'n roll history recording their masterpieces, right? Dark, cozy environments; comfy couches; endless hours to get that perfect take with no concern for anything happening outside the studio walls; and time at the end of the day to lay down on the control room floor and listen to that wicked line that your killer bassist just immortalized on tape. How romantic!

Well, it doesn't often happen that way, of course, but I do love this photo (taken at our first Cotton Ridge sessions earlier this year). And just when you think we're totally lying down on the job, I come to you with good news of nine (count 'em, nine!) completed mixes and just a handful left to go for our as-of-yet untitled third album. We anticipate a Fall (2007, I promise!) release.
