Sunday Afternoon Standards

Sunday afternoon gigs are tough. Not that we speak from a whole wealth of experience, but we have done a handful of them. It's just a bit difficult to play a rock show in a smoky club when it's super bright (and really durn hot) outside. But, you have to persevere...especially when you're folk-rockin' for a cause.

We were thrilled to support Mid-South Arc at their benefit concert this past Sunday at Neil's in Midtown Memphis. We were joined by some great bands, including Patty Harper and Faultline, who opened the day's festivities with a blazin' blues set. Attendance was about what you would expect on a summer Sunday afternoon, but the folks at Arc said they raised a nice chunk of change, when all was said and done.

So, if you're a regular reader of this blog or visitor to our Web site, you're probably aware that there's always a ton of pictures of us. Not that we're not handsome dudes (!), but I'm a bit sick and tired of seeing pictures of us. So, in the interest of honoring the Standard faithful who ventured out on Sunday, here's a peek at some of those good-looking folks.

Our former student, Patrick, was there with his mom, Mona, and his girlfriend, Stephanie. Patrick and Steph are students at the University of Iowa. Go Hawks!

Our pals Jim, Cindy and Scott were in attendance. Where the heck is Dave? This was Jim's first official Standards gig!

Another former student, Lauren (who rarely misses a show), brought two friends. Way to go!

Ted's cousin, Sandy (left), another Standard standard, was joined by two lovely ladies who shall remain nameless (only because I don't know them, of course).

We were there, too...in a really weird backlit kinda way.

Thanks, everyone, for your continued support of our little rock band!

Well, you know, we drummers always keep in the background, out of the limelight and beyond the range of the camera's roving eye...

ps: Great show!
